Hello, my name is Eric Neate. Growing up in small farming community in northwest Ohio I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian from about the age of five. This stemmed from my love of animals, as well as, from my admiration of my great uncle Lowell Barnes, DVM.
After graduating from Liberty Center High School, I attended Ohio State University majoring in Animal/Dairy/Poultry Science in the College of Agriculture. Before finishing my bachelor’s degree, I was admitted to veterinary school at Ohio State. I was able to finish my undergraduate degree while in veterinary school and receive my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in the spring of 1999.
While applying for jobs, right out of college, I interviewed for a day with Dr. Percival. Things went well, he offered me a job and I have been at Big Creek Veterinary Hospital ever since. I even met my wife at Big Creek. Trisha and I have been married since 2003. We have two young and energetic boys, Jeremy and Jonah, as well as 2 dogs and 4 cats. Many of you may know our dog Bandit from his days as the Big Creek greeter.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I especially like watching the stars with my sons and occasionally Bandit or Ruby will lie down and watch the stars with us.
