Dr. Joel Percival

Welcome to Big Creek Veterinary Hospital! My name is Joel Percival. I have been practicing veterinary medicine since I graduated from The Ohio State University in 1987. I am a lifelong resident of Lake County. I graduated from Riverside High School and attended Hiram College prior to entering veterinary school. After working as an associate veterinarian for four years, I started Big Creek Veterinary Hospital as a solo practitioner in 1991. Since that time, our practice has grown into a six veterinarian practice. We recently moved into our brand new facility.

I have always enjoyed the variety and challenge of working in a mixed animal practice. This allows for the opportunity to treat and perform surgeries on a variety of species of animals. This also allows the opportunity for me to network with other veterinarians through several professional societies. I am currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners and the Northeast Ohio Equine Practitioners Association. Over the past several years, I have been especially proud of the excellent staff and the veterinarians that we have been able to assemble as a team at Big Creek.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Tracie, and my two dogs. I also enjoy skiing, hiking and riding my quarter horses. For the last twenty one years, I have resided in Leroy Township.
